NEOPLASM
ECTOPIA
April 2015
Solo Show at Bluestone Gallery in Philadelphia, PA
Neoplasm Ectopia is a body of work that reference the biological world, the landscape and the body. Something beautiful that's been contaminated or something malignant rendered benign.
NEOPLASM:
"...is an abnormal frowth of tissue, and when also forming a mass is commonly reffered to as a tumor. This abnormal growth (neoplasia) usually but not always forms a mass."
ECTOPIA:
"... in medecine, an ectopia is a displacement or malposition of an organ or other body part."
The Neoplasm emplastum works protrude from the wall, bringing into possibilit the concept of the wall as body and the masses as seemingly alluring forms whose intentions are to be determined.
